Wireless Palava

Imagine a Nigeria with a hotspot enabled environment. A country where i could lay on my bed, put on my laptop, enable my Wireless Fidelity and connect to the world wide web.

A place where you don't have to move about looking for surfing networks. Imagine yourself surfing the Internet and downloading cool user friendly softwares that can make life easier for you. Does it mean i can't browse the Internet or download the softwares i want without first of all checking how many megabytes i have left in my data bundle?
Imagine yourself searching for an information on a search engine like Google or Wikipedia and the moment you hit the search button, the options leading to your quest flow into your screen. Imagine yourself in an area where you can't find your way and your have a GPS enabled smartphone and you can't send people your location just because of the parvatious nature of your data bundle. Which if it were available, you could navigate your way through without asking a single person where you are.
Sometimes i do watch these Hollywood movies and marvel at the way they advertise their 'addiction' to the Internet. Just because most of their homes are wireless enabled, they maximize the utilization of the Internet.
If only one of those vieing for a post in this election would have 'creating a Wifi environment' in his agenda. Though not certain whether it will be fulfilled, the likes of Me wouldn't but cast my vote on him.
Imagine how much you spend on your blackberry or android phones for subscriptions, let alone talking of those who have phones and computers and make sure they are always fed with bundles. If you could calculate how much you spend on data bundle for year. You would know what you are losing.
If only there could be a Nigeria with strong signals for browsing just like our networks like Airtel, Mtn and co(though manageable), i know its going to be enjoyed by many. This deficiency happens to be actually limiting the potentials of many gifted individuals in our country. An average Nigerian who has a mobile phone finds it hard to purchase a data bundle because of its high cost, if only the government could do something about this vice. Its going to be really wonderful.
Some people are afraid of actually checking some softwares and applications in their smartphones like android inclined users just because of the rate at which it cuts its data. People don't know that with their Map software they could go to at least the places they wish to go to without the help of any one.
Nigeria is developing, yes but though this aspect is an element of development. How i wish someday, all these imaginations shall be enjoyed by me.
Hmmmm i know it shall. The leaders of tomorrow shall make it a reality. Believe in yourself and make your passion your profession, and success will chase you pants down.
Nigeria will be a better place to be.
