The reason one owns a Pc generally is to use it to save and
execute files. Most of these files happen to be personal and as such, access to
the file is restricted. This is possible using the windows password is to a
reasonable extent hard to bypass or break. We all create passwords for our
gadgets like phones, Pcs and other devices that make use of passwords. But, the
problem arises when he forget that password. For PC, there are some available
options which are:
Installing a new operating system: in other to wipe out the
password, a new Operating System is installed. This way, you just lose your
installed softwares but your files are still intact. That is if nothing goes
wrong during installation.
Using the Command Prompt to reset: this is advanced and is a
bit techy, the tutorial will be for another day. But, I will give you a hint.
You will boot into safe mode, get Launch startup and do some tricks there.
Now, Microsoft knowing the difficulty people might go
through in other to change a lost password now added a feature in Windows. The
is known as, ”Creating A Password Reset Disk”. This works such that once your
create a reset disk, with that disk you will be able to change the password of
your PC anytime you forget it. The disk in question is just either a CD or a
flash drive, any can serve. What happens is that once you select a reset disk,
a file is created inside the Pc and with it you will be able to change the
password even if the password has been changed many times after creating the
reset disk. Every Windows Operating system can create this, all you need is
just a CD or a flash drive to serve as the disk. Also, any created reset disk
renders the previous ones useless. So, it has a security check.
Note: if you format the disk, the file will also be
formatted and as such, the disk wont work again.
HOW TO CREATE THE
DISK.
1.
Insert your flash drive or CD into the PC.
2.
Click the Start button and type, “create a
password reset disk” and press Enter.
3.
On the Pop up wizard click Next.
4.
Select the drive or flash or CD’s name and click
Next.
5.
Input your current password and click next (this is to ensure you are the owner of the
PC.)
6.
After it finishes creating, click next and then
finish.
You can now open the flash or CD to see the file it created.
In other for it to be safe, you can create a partition on your flash and save

HOW TO USE THE RESET
DISK.
In other to demonstrate this, I will presume you have
forgotten your password. This is what you should do. Get the disk you just
created and keep by your side.
1.
Restart the computer and get to log in
interface.
2.
Type in a wrong password and hit Enter, hit OK
and below the password form you will see reset password.
3.
Insert the flash or CD and click Reset password.
4.
On this wizard click Next.
5.
On the Next, select the disk you have and click
Next.
6.
This is where you type in new password and
confirm it. You can leave the password hint empty.
7.
Click finish and now type in your newly created
password and press Enter. Your PC will log in.
